David Coria is certainly one of the most important Spanish artists of the new generation of flamenco dancers and choreographers. His choreographic signature, the aesthetics and the social-political commitment of his works distinguish him as one of the most interesting Spanish choreographers of the moment. In his dance, we can feel the influences of the choreographers he could work with during his career, such as Antonio Gades, Pilar López, José Granero, Alberto Lorca, Jose Antonio, Rocío Molina, Eva Yerbabuena, Rafaela Carrasco and the National Ballet of Spain as well. These numerous experiences led him to be nammed as principal dancer, rehearsal director and choreographer of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía from 2013 to 2016. His reputation has been consolidated with the success of his own creations. Anónimo received the Special Audience Award at the 2019 Jerez Festival. In 2020, he created Fandango! at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris. For this piece he received the Special Critics' Prize at the Jerez Festival and the Giraldillo Prize for the best show at the Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla the same year. In 2022, he created the duet Imperfecto with Jann Gallois at the Théâtre National de Chaillot.
