Diagnosis F20.9 was born out of my interest in the brain’s mechanisms for losing control of body and mind. As a dancer and choreographer I have been working daily for many years to perfect my own body control, and one day I wondered about the reverse process: at what point can this mechanism go wrong ?
Thus, by studying cognitive dysfunctions, I immersed myself in the psychiatric medical environment and discovered a widespread disease, victim of many prejudices and yet still unknown to the general public: schizophrenia, listed in the international classification of diseases in chapter F20.9.
The different encounters and exchanges I had with these schizophrenic patients gave rise to my desire to transcribe this mental disorder through a body vocabulary. People as rich by their sensitivity as by their intelligence deserved according to me a testimony with the aim of destigmatizing this disease.
